We all know that racism exists. It is no longer just a
black and white issue. America, being the wonderful country of contradictions, has
attracted many cultures, races, beliefs, and other qualities that define our humanity.
This webzine is not just a forum for ethnic
minorities to express their opinions, experiences, and ideas about race and diversity.
This is a forum for EVERYONE who struggles to push aside our differences
in order to create collaboratively. For us to erase the blemish of racism in the next
millenium, we all must examine our behaviors and expectations from one another. We shall
do this through stories, songs, poetry, anecdotes, and whatever else we can post on this
site that can hammer away at the ignorance we all possess.
Send us your short stories, anecdotes, rants, gossips,
rumors, observations, inside scoops, and anything else that might relate to the issue of
diversity, especially in the film, television, new media, performing arts industry, and
society at large. See our guidelines.
Here are some few hard facts about the Hollywood film
industry:
- This is still a white dominated industry.
- Women have it worse in the industry.
- If you're a man, doesn't matter what race you are, you can
always say, "At least I'm not a woman."
- Men are allowed to age in this industry.
- Sex sells.
We want to see more ethnic minorities on TV and film.
Latinos, for example, represent eleven percent of the population and yet they only
received 4 percent of TV and featured film roles in 1997.
That's just one of the things we want to change. We want to
finally make the American promise a reality; one prosperous country united by our
differences.
This site is not about griping. If you hate white people,
this site is not for you.
So, what do you say we laugh at the blatant ignorance that's
happening around us? Write. Create. Send.
Hate what we have to say? Well, go make your own website.
Otherwise, tap them fingers on the 'ol 101 keys and email us some shit.

"Art should be brave and, unfortunately, Hollywood has
some very bad habits that keep bravery from happening. Hollywood has some very bad habits.
And racism is part of it. Residual racism. Unconscious racism. The young directors who are
coming on the scene can help that."
- James Earl Jones
